The Generalitat has lifted the stay-at-home order for Dénia, but CECOPAL has extended local closures through Monday afternoon. Schools, parks, the fair and municipal buildings stay shut.
Information correct as of 18:20 on Monday 19 October 2026.
The Generalitat has lifted the regional stay-at-home and travel restriction for Dénia. The town’s local emergency committee (CECOPAL) has nevertheless decided to keep Monday’s prevention measures in place through the afternoon of Monday 19 October 2026 while it inspects buildings, schools, trees and damaged roads.
In a thread posted at 16:19 CEST, Dénia town hall confirmed that the regional confinement for Dénia had been lifted, then listed what remains closed or suspended for the rest of Monday:
Residents are told to avoid areas with trees because of the risk of falling trunks or branches. Parks and Gardens staff are inspecting the trees. Once the emergency is over, businesses setting up terraces should check their surroundings for anything that could fall, especially trees, for the following 48 hours.
After CECOPAL met at 18:00 on Sunday, the town hall had already announced:
BusDénia (the town bus) was suspended until further notice because it could not run safely. The afternoon update did not say that buses had resumed.
At the time of writing the town hall had published no decision on Tuesday’s classes.
At 09:56 on Monday the town hall described the situation as “critical” (translated from Valencian) and asked everyone not to go out. Residents in areas affected by the Girona and Racons rivers, which were at risk of overflowing, were told to “go up to the higher parts of your homes” (translated from Valencian).
At 09:25 on Monday these streets were closed, as named by the town hall:
Parking is banned in Grup Sant Andrés. The town hall also warns of falling branches in tree-lined areas such as Marqués de Campo and the Explanada Cervantes. The afternoon update did not publish a new road list.
The waste transfer plant closed on Sunday. On Monday morning Dénia Medi Ambient asked residents not to put rubbish or recycling out during the morning and afternoon while the collection service restarted gradually.
Dénia town hall posts updates in Valencian and Spanish on X (@ayto_denia), and the Policía Local (municipal police) posts on @policiadenia. Regional alerts come from @GVA112 and the GVA 112 app. In an emergency, call 112.
